Using stations in an integrated rotation model and technology learning stations has integrated fluency phonics awareness into how I teach poor phonics in my classroom.

My students take turns visiting the perimeter technology stations, which allow them to access innovative resources like Raz-kids, Get Epic, and interactive games on Kahoot! These help them identify, practice, and reinforce word segmentation and sound-to-letter matching skills.

One of the stations I implemented in my classroom was a tablet with apps that allowed children to practice specific phonemes; for example, they were presented with activities where I had jars with letters on them and others with pictures that represented the beginning sound of the word, and the children had to drag the letters into the correct jars.

This type of practice not only improves phonological awareness but also promotes autonomy and self-regulation. It combines this digital station with hands-on, manipulative activities like card cardio and letter blocks. This balance is designed to allow children to interact with technology and develop fine and creative motor skills.
